When I was in elementary school, we were required every day to line up in the playground to exercise together. It was said to be for maintaining the students' physical health. But at that time, I preferred free movement that involved more physical activity on the playground than the group exercise. In winter, the skin on the back of my hands would crack due to the cold and dryness. However, wearing gloves during the exercises was not allowed, so in my memory, group exercise is always associated with pain. For years, I have been puzzled by this memory: was it really wrong to wear gloves on my cracked hands as a child?
